Privacy Policy
Robbins Parking Service Ltd. (Robbins) is committed to maintaining a high level of security both administratively and through system access.
We are committed to and prioritize protecting our customers personal information. Robbins does not sell any information. We may share information with third-party collection agencies, who act on our behalf to collect outstanding and overdue violations or unpaid monthly parking fees, as permitted by law. Collection agencies are legally required to safeguard this information.
Monthly Parking
All information provided to Robbins for monthly parking agreements is used for the purpose of maintaining your monthly parking account. Our monthly parking department operates separately from our violation department with information never shared between the departments.
Registered Owner Information
The name and address of the registered owner(s) of a vehicle is obtained through an ICBC vehicle plate search and is obtain for the sole purpose of collecting unpaid parking fees. This information is protected, with controls in place to limit access to only duly authorized employees (those involved with appeals, collections, and system/information maintenance and controls). All authorized staff comply with the guidelines of the Privacy Act.
Credit Card Information
The collection of credit card information is limited to your credit card number and expiry date. In many cases the information is blocked by security fields that prevent it from being viewed.
For monthly parking credit card information is securely stored and protected by our internal systems, so that employees cannot access this information.
For Payment Notices your card details are only used to take payment for the confirmed amount in real time and they are not stored.
License Plate Information
The Automatic License Plate Recognition System (ALPR) utilizes a vehicle with an on-board computer and rooftop-mounted cameras to scan and photograph license plates in a geographic area. A photograph is taken when a license plate is detected, and the license plate photo is converted into data format. This data is cross-referenced with permit-holder data (license plate number/province, permit number, timestamp data) that has been securely uploaded to the on-board computer (laptop) from the existing T2 database housed at Robbins. The T2 Security Centre (housed at Robbins with the T2 database) will then query the T2 Pay-by-License-Plate database in Burnaby as a final check to determine if the suspected vehicle has purchased parking in the last few moments. Permit-holder information is periodically updated throughout the day via the same secure connection, encrypted, to ensure permit-holder information on the laptop remains current. All data and photos on the laptop are automatically deleted at the end of the day via the vendor’s proprietary process, when the data is downloaded to the Genetec Security Centre. The data in the Security Centre will be immediately deleted as it is not needed.

All data and photos on the laptop are automatically deleted at the end of the day via the vendor’s proprietary process.
Legal Disclosure
Robbins may disclose your information as permitted or required to by law; for
example:
• to a government institution or other person or entity that has asserted its lawful authority to obtain the information.
• where we have reasonable grounds to believe the information could be useful in the investigation of unlawful activity.
• to comply with a subpoena or warrant or an order made by a court, person, or entity with jurisdiction to compel the production of information.
• to comply with court rules regarding the production of records and information; and
• to our legal counsel.
Proof of Entitlement
To prove that we are entitled to collect information on a vehicle, we must be able to produce a record of a parking violation.
Website
Our web site provides customers with the convenience of reviewing our parking rates and locations, and the ability to pay outstanding notices online. All information provided is restricted to its intended use, Robbins employees do not have access to customer credit card information, as it is encrypted and is processed and not stored.
Authorized Disclosure
Robbins Parking can disclose registered owner information to only the following:
• Registered owner, upon proof of identity (must include registered owner information, along with identification that matches registration – in person).
• Canada Post, to mail collection notices.
• Legal counsel, to reply to communications from registered owner, or to initiate legal proceedings.
• Collection agency – on behalf of Robbins Parking.
• External auditors, at the request of government or regulatory authorities.
Protection of Information
How does Robbins Protect My Information?
The security of your personal information is a high priority for Robbins. We maintain extremely high safeguards and current security standards to protect our customers’ your personal information, whether recorded on paper or captured electronically, against unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.
Although we cannot take responsibility for any theft, misuse, unauthorized disclosure, loss, alteration, or destruction of data by a third party, we take reasonable precautions to prevent such occurrences.
Accuracy of Registered Owner Information
Where an individual brings to the attention of Robbins Parking, that our record of their information is incorrect, we would direct the registered owner to update their records with the issuing body.
Verification of Information
You can check your information to verify, update, or correct it, and to have any obsolete information removed.
You can also ask to review any of the information that we have retained, how we have used it, and to whom we have disclosed it at any time by contacting us at privacymanager@robbinsparking.com.
Subject to certain exceptions as prescribed by law, and provided we can authenticate your identity, you will be given reasonable access to your personal information, and will be entitled to challenge the accuracy and completeness of the information and to have it amended as appropriate. Certain fees would apply depending on the type of information requested. Please note that changes cannot be made that would prevent our ability to collect on any outstanding debt.
Removal of Information
We keep your information only if your account remains outstanding. We remove your personally, identifiable information once the account is paid.

may change over time. We may add, change, or remove portions of this Policy as appropriate. Policy updates will be dated.
